About Kartaxa and our dream of honoring art and the city that welcomed it

The word kartaxa is a tribute to how Cartagena de Indias was popularly called in the 18th and 19th centuries, as a result of the influence of the Basque people in the city. That is why Camilo S. Delgado in his book published in 1910 "Histories, legends and traditions of Cartagena" refers to this name with which we have given life to our hotel.

The Kartaxa hotel, designed to honor the city and those who through art and literature left their legacy in it, welcomes locals and visitors with its boutique and republican style concept that frames the artistic and bohemian life of the 30s.
